VeggieTales the Ultimate Christmas Collection - I'm Giving One Away!

Christmas is only 70 days away . . . it will be here before we know it . . . at least if you are an adult! If you are a child, I'm sure you'll think it will never arrive!

For the past several years VeggieTales has released Christmas stories . . . some of which have become my favorite Veggie stories! This year they have put together a "Veggie Christmas Marathon!" They say, "Plug in the tree, light the fire and get ready for the VeggieTales Christmas extravangaza!! Join Bob, Larry and the entire VeggieTales gang for a very Veggie Christmas marathon." This VeggieTales Ultimate Christmas Collection features the entire Veggie Christmas collection! With this collection, you'll find on two DVDs, It's a Meaningful Life, Saint Nicholas: a Story of Joyful Giving, The Star of Christmas, The Little Drummer Boy, The Toy that Saved Christmas, Christmas Singalong Songs DVD and 25 Favorite Christmas Songs CD!

VeggieTales: It's a Meaningful LifeSince there is a true wealth of Veggie Christmas fun in this collection, I thought I'd share a review of each one with you over the coming week, beginning first with my favorite: It's a Meaningful Life! Over the years I've had the opportunity to review many Veggie stories . . . nearly all of them to be exact. But It's a Meaningful Life is one of my absolute favorites - it is clearly a "must-have" for every family's home movie collection! Not only is it a great and enjoyable story, but one with a "point" for every child, parent and grandparent!

  • Favorite Features -
    • based on Jeremiah 29:11 which says, ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
    • includes an original new song from multi-GRAMMY and Dove Award-winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman - “Meant To Be", music video of that song, an interview with Steven Curtis Chapman and more bonus features
    • kids, parents will love the brand new Silly Song - “Goodnight Junior”
    • a family discussion guide called “A Meaningful Family Life” available on the DVD
    • important lessons about being content and understanding God put us where we are for a reason
I really appreciate the quality job the writers did in tying an old "classic" holiday story to Jeremiah 29:11 to give children, and adults, a strong and much needed message about being content and understanding God put us where we are for a reason - ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’  Sure to become a favorite, this is one of the best Veggie stories ever! Love the characters, love the music, love the story-line and most importantly, love the message! This story shows why Big Idea/VeggieTales continues to be the family favorite they have been and will most certainly be for years to come!

I particularly enjoyed the creativity and humor worked into the story-line. The characters are ones children will love with the return of Larry, Petunia and Mr. Lunt as well as the new character - Emma the rhubarb. My "kid-reviewer" Brienna said she really liked how VeggieTales used the train to "transport" Stewart/Larry into the "past and future which might have been". There are strong messages for children in this story, but in particular the message of being content and knowing God has a plan for us is one all parents need to hear as well! When families watch it be sure to encourage them to talk about how they find real meaning for their lives by loving God and serving others. Big Idea has outdone themselves with "It's a Meaningful Life"! Tremendously well done!

Not only did Veggies send me the Ultimate Christmas Collection for me to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only)!
