VBS - Evaluate - Follow-up & Plan!

If you had a VBS ministry in the summer, now is a great time to sit down and evaluate, follow-up and plan.  It is far too easy to just present ministry without ever taking the time to evaluate, follow-up and plan, so if you haven't already done so, sit down and do it now! Consider the following . . .

 - Evaluate - honestly consider how your VBS went  . . .
  • Were you able to recruit the volunteers you needed, or did you have to "pull it off" with fewer volunteers than you really needed.
  • If you were able to get enough volunteers, why were you able to do so?
  • What worked when it came to recruiting?
  • If you did not have enough volunteers, why were you not able to get enough?
  • What did not work when it came to recruiting?
  • What might you do differently next year when you recruit?
  • What response did you get from church children and families?
  • What response did you get from community children and families?
- Follow-up . . .
  • Did you take time to thank your volunteers?
  • What did you do to thank them?
  • Did you let the church know how your summer ministries went?
Plan . . .
  • What are your goals for your summer ministry in 2014?
  • What opportunities will you offer the children in your church and community in 2014?
  • Who can you ask to start praying for your 2014 summer ministry?
These are just a few questions to consider as you evaluate and follow-up your 2013 summer ministry and plan for your 2014 summer ministry!
