My Top Five Reasons for Having a Discipline Policy Which Shows Grace - #3 - Because We Love Them

As I have been saying for the last couple days, when we work with children, we know there will be times when they do not obey and we have to implement a discipline policy; but as I said yesterday, our discipline policies need to be firmly grounded, saturated and immersed in grace. I have been sharing with you my Top Five Reasons for Having a Discipline Policey Which Shows Grace and today I'm happy to share with you another reason for this  . . .
  • Because we love the children in our ministries. When they are sorry for what they do and ask for grace, how can we refuse? We need to always be generous with grace for them.

Certainly when we make poor decisions - and if we are honest, there are times we all do this, do we not want people to show us grace because they love us? Of course we do. We show grace to the children because we love them.

There are certainly other reasons, but when it comes to the children in our ministries, how can we not give them grace? As I have been saying, this does not mean we do not have a discipline policy, but rather we make sure our policies are strong in reflecting grace to the children in our ministries.

How do your discipline policies reflect grace?
