You probably know people who serve in children's ministry - both as full or part-time paid staff and those who volunteer their time and their selves to serve. You certainly know parents and grandparents! These are all people who I write About the Children's Department for. In the coming year I will have articles on the 2011 VBS, how to find your best curriculum "fit" with reviews of curriculum for Sunday's and mid-week children's ministries. I'll have information on recruiting, supporting and encouraging volunteers and so much more that those serving in children's ministry will find useful and helpful. Each month I'll highlight a ministry with ideas for "Putting Feet to Their Faith" so the children in your ministry will be able to live what they are learning from God's Word! Parents and grandparents will find much of this information interesting as well, as these issues directly impact their children and grandchildren.
I will also be reviewing items not only useful in children's ministry, but things parents and grandparents could use in their homes with the children in their lives. I'll have a new "Family Pick" every two weeks and the items I review I'll also be giving away in drawings!
Children's ministry matters . . . yes, it matters to those serving in children's ministry, but it matters to parents, grandparents and everyone in the church as we all need to know about and be praying for this important part of our churches! Please take a moment and think about the people you know and then invite them to check out this blog and join in the conversation . . . we all have so much we can learn from one another!
