On January 3rd I'll begin my Top Ten Vacation Bible School Countdown for 2011! There are some truly excellent and well developed VBS resources available for 2011 - no matter which kit you select for your VBS you are sure the children in your ministry will have fun learning new songs, playing games and making crafts; but most importantly, they will have the opportunity to either make a decision to ask Jesus for forgiveness and begin following Him or continue to grow in their walk with Him!
I'm particularly happy to see VBS resources designed to help children understand in spite of what the world around them teaches the truth that Jesus Is The One, and Only Way to be forgiven and know and walk with God. I'm also delighted to see lessons that help children understand how to live what they believe and involves them in serving others. This year's VBS resources offer solid Bible teaching!
In my Top Ten VBS Countdown for 2011 I'll spend a day on each of my Top Ten VBS resources reviewing their scope, setting, theme and the things I liked the best about their VBS along with a few things I would have liked to see. On January 18th I'll release my side-by-side comparison chart - feel free to print it out and take it with you to your local bookstore VBS events.
For the past four years I've written the VBS reviews for Christianity Today's Your Church Magazine, but since they have ended their publication, my reviews are now on "About the Children's Department"!
