Have you decided which VBS resources best "fit" your ministry vision, passion and plan? Have you had an opportunity to attend a VBS Open House or Workshop hosted by your local Christian Bookstore? If you haven't made your selection yet, have you narrowed down to the top three or four resources you believe will best "fit" your ministry?
If not, take a few minutes and check my 2011 VBS reviews, Side-by-Side Comparison Chart and other articles to help you make your selections. Be sure to first of all consider your goals and vision for your VBS as this will help you narrow down which kits are the best "fit" for your ministry. While settings, music and marketing may tend to drive our choices for VBS, we should always pick our VBS resources based on which kit will best enable us to accomplish our goals - are you focusing on evangelism? Is your primary goal related to equipping Christian children to live their faith? Do you have a goal that encompasses both of these areas? Know what it is you want to accomplish with your VBS ministry and then select the kit which will best enable you to realize those goals!
If you have already decided which VBS kit will best "fit" your ministry, then take a moment to consider your ministry calendar year and where you might be able to utilize an additional VBS kit or two. Vacation Bible School resources are some of your best curriculum buys of the year! Be sure to keep an eye out for those resources you could use in your ministry throughout the year!
Over the next few months as we approach our summer ministries, I'll post articles to help you as you plan your VBS - be sure to check back often!
