Sneak Peek for VBS 2013 - The Mighty God - God Leads Moses & Me - Bogard Press

I'm happy to share with you a "sneak peek" at Bogard Press' VBS for 2013 - The Mighty God - God Leads Moses & Me! Bogard says, "The Mighty God - God Leads Moses and Me is a study from the book of Exodus which will show how God led Moses through the perils of his life and remained faithful to him in extreme circumstances. We will learn on this quest ways God loves us, calls us, saves us, guides us and cares for us - just like God did with Moses. So come join us for The Mighty God VBS 2013! " Let's take a look at their scope and sequence -

Setting: The Nile River
 Shield/Room Color: Blue/White
Bible Event: God loved Moses and had great plans for his life
(Exodus 1:16, 17; 2:1-10).
Student Application: Each student is special to God (Psalm 139:14, 16), and He has a special
plan for each life that begins by realizing God’s love for the student (John 3:16)
and the student’s need to believe in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Memory Verse: Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Student Objective: I am loved by God.

Setting: The Burning Bush
 Shield/Room Color: Green/White
Bible Event: God called Moses at the burning bush on Mount Sinai
(Exodus 3:1-18).
Student Application: Each student can expect God to call him to repentance and faith in
Christ as the Holy Spirit convicts when the Bible is taught.
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would bring conviction (John 16:7-11).
Memory Verse: Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Student Objective: I am called by God.

Setting: The Passover at an Israelite House in Egypt
 Shield/Room Color: Orange/White
Bible Event: God spared Moses and the Israelites
by the Passover (Exodus 12:1-14).
Student Application: The Passover pictures God’s
salvation in the sacrifice of Jesus, the Lamb of God.
Christ’s sacrifice means God can forgive our sins and save
us (1 Corinthians 5:7; 1 Peter 1:18, 19; 3:18; Isaiah 53:3-6).
At the age of accountability each student can experience
God’s personal salvation when he invites Jesus into his life.
Memory Verse: John 1:29, “The next day John seeth
Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of
God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
Student Objective: I am saved by God.

Setting: The Red Sea
 Shield/Room Color: Red/White
Bible Event: God led Moses and the Israelites with a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire when
they crossed the Red Sea on dry ground (Exodus 13:17-22; 14:13-31).
Student Application: As God led Moses, each student can trust God to lead him in life by the teaching
of Scripture and conviction of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14-17).
Memory Verses: Proverbs 3:5, 6, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Student Objective: I am led by God.

Setting: The Wilderness Desert
 Shield/Room Color: Purple/White
Bible Event: God cared for Moses and His people by supplying their needs of food
(manna and quail, Exodus 16:4, 12-15) and water (Exodus 17:5, 6).
Student Application: As God provided for them, He will supply the student’s need
like food and clothing (Matthew 6:25-33; Philippians 4:18, 19).
Memory Verse: Psalm 55:22, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Student Objective: I am kept by God.
