VeggieTales the League of Incredible Vegetables Give-Away is Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, October 1, 2012, is the day I'll be drawing the name of one winner from each of my blogs, (grandma's cookie jar and About the Children's Department) and this winner will receive one DVD of the new VeggieTales movie, the League of Incredible Vegetables . . . my grandson Josiah's FAVORITE movie! You will find my review of this movie at the following link, but today I want to share VeggieTale's Parent's Discussion Guide for this movie!
How to Raise Incredible Kids!
  • From the summer ice cream heist to his theft of the Fear-Dar, Dr. Flurry had a problem with stealing. Why is it wrong to steal? What should we do when we're tempted to take something which doesn't belong to us? - Read Exodus 20:15 and 17 explaining the urge to steal something usually starts with a jealous desire for someone else's possessions.
  • In this adventure, just about everyone had a fear to conquer. How many of them can you remember? If Dr. Flurry had turned the Fear-Dar on you, what might it have said? - After thinking about your own fears and putting them in perspective, see how David responded to fear in Psalm 27:1-3, and what Moses told the Israelites in Deuteronomy 31:1.
  • Could any of these incredible Vegetables have saved Bumblyburg alone? Give examples of how each Veggie used his or her special talents to help the group succeed. Why is teamwork so important? - Not everyone has a role to play on God's team - kids included - by reading 1 Corinthians 12:14-22. Help your children recognize their own special gifts.
  • In what way was LarryBoy willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save a friend? How do people in your world make big sacrifices for those they love? - Point to Jesus' words about love in John 15:13, as well as the heroic way He practiced what He preached by dying for our sin.
  • Not all heroes soar through the air and wear funny outfits. Do you have a rel-life hero? Who do you admire and why? Pray for that person and ask God to make you the kind of person sure to become someone else's hero.
You will find these tips included on the DVD and if you check FocusOnTheFamily.com/VeggieTales you'll also find a Super Activity for families, a family devotion on fear and exclusive free downloads as well!

VeggieTales, The League of Incredible Vegetables goes on sale on October 16, 2012 . . . it is an incredibly well done VeggieStory with a solid VeggieMessage! It very possibly will become your grandchild's favorite VeggieStory, too!

And, tomorrow, October 1, 2012 I'm drawing a name as someone will win a copy (USA only)! If you would like to be included in this give-away - which will be on October 1, 2012 - please comment below to let me know if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG (not just liking the post) and/or have followed About the Children's Department by email. For each of these which you have done you will receive one entry. In addition, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win this movie and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading About the Children's Department and for sharing it with the people you know!
