Book Review - Animal Tales from the Bible - I'm Giving One Away!

Two of my all-time favorite authors of Bible story books for children are Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen. These two men are such wonderful storytellers - the are able to communicate a story with a joy, enthusiasm and sense of humor which makes the stories captivating for children and a delight for adults. So when Zonderkidz announced they are re-releasing a collection of stories from these authors, I couldn't be more thrilled! In Animal Tales from the Bible: Four Favorite Stories About Jesus you'll find, The Fox's Tale (Jesus is Born), The Cat's Tale (Jesus at the Wedding), The Magpie's Tale (Jesus and Zacchaeus) and The Mouse's Tale (Jesus and the Storm)! These stories "re-tell" familiar Bible accounts from the "perspective" of four animals and are sure to be a favorite for young children in your ministry.

When my children were little - a long time ago, I bought a few books for them by Nick Butterworth & Mick Inkpen (the creator of Kipper the dog);  The Lost Sheep, The Precious Pearl, The Two Sons and The House on the Rock. These books became some of our favorites! I loved the simple way they told Jesus' parables with humor and a flare for storytelling! I loved the simple illustrations. There were excellent reasons these books were some of my family's favorites!

Favorite Parables from the Bible: Stories Jesus Told provides you eight wonderful Bible stories in one book. In addition to the four stories I mentioned, this book also includes The Ten Silver Coins, The Little Gate, The Good Stranger and The Rich Farmer. Children ages 4-7 are going to love this book - and so will grandmas! :-)
(I'll be giving this book away on my other blog - grandma's cookie jar.)

So, when Zonderkidz decided to re-release these books as well - combined in one book with four additional stories, well, I couldn't have been happier! I'm so thrilled a new generation of children will be able to enjoy these stories! These books release in January and they absolutely are "must-have" books for your home library.

I'm absolutely thrilled to announce, not only did Zonderkidz send this book for me to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only)! If you'd like to be in the drawing for Animal Tales from the Bible,  which will be on January 15, 2013,  please comment below to let me know if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG (not just liking the post) and/or have followed About the Children's Department by email. For each of these which you have done you will receive one entry. In addition, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win this book and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away!
