Yes, this Friday is February 15th! Why should you mark your calender for it, you ask? Because it is the day after Valentine's Day. What is significant about the day after Valentine's Day, you ask? Because . . . it is the day all the heart-shaped candies go on clearance!!!! If you haven't already, make plans to head for your local store first thing and pick up some for use in your ministry! Just think of all the things you could do with heart-shaped candies . . . if you have them . . .- you can give them to volunteers all year long, (tag them with a note which says, "You are a loved part of our children's ministry) and since you picked them on on February 15th, you were able to get them at clearance prices!!!! (I love the word "sale" and "clearance" is an even more "lovable" word!!!) :^)
- you can give them to potential volunteers when you are spending the month of May on recruiting (tag them with a note which says, "We would love to have you be part of our children's ministry team!!!" - be sure to check back to this blog all of May as I'll be focusing on recruiting the entire month!)
- you can give them to children as a special treat (tag them with a note which says, "God loves you and so do we!")
- Of course, you could keep them on your desk as a way to brighten the day of all who enter your office . . . this is if you can manage to keep from eating them yourself! :^)
So, what are you waiting for? Make your plans!!! Underline February 15th! Circle it! Draw a few hearts on this date and plan to head for your local stores to buy heart-shaped candies!!!! :^)
