Once again VeggieTales has produced a couple stories which which not only delight, but will also challenge us in our own walk and in the way we live our lives every day! Yes, there is plenty of silliness - how could there not be when you combine VeggieTale characters with nursery rhyme characters?!!! - but there is also solid teaching which is the main reason I'm a fan of VeggieTales. There is no shortage of animated series out there which will delight our children - and even some which parents and grandparents can enjoy - but animated series which teach, encourage and challenge us in our walk with God . . . well, those are very few and far between. Big Idea has definitely set the "bar" quite high with VeggieTales and they continue to meet and exceed their own standard with each new story they release!
"Additionally, the story of "Humpty Dumpty" is hilariously re-told around the good neighbor parable in "The Good Egg of Gooseville", inspired by Luke 10:27-37; the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Ever what happened before Humpty cracked? Find out in this very Veggie retelling of the classic story where we learn how to be a good neighbor!"
I'm delighted to say, not only did Big Idea send one DVD for me to review, but they are making an additional DVD available for me to give away! I'll hold a drawing on March 1, 2013 for this DVD (USA only) so if you'd like to be in the drawing, please comment below to let me know if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG (not just by liking the post) and/or have followed About the Children's Department by email. For each of these which you have done you will receive one entry. In addition, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry for each "share" (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win the DVD and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading About the Children's Department and for sharing it with the people you know!
