The Action Bible - I'm Giving One Away!

For years and years if your church used David C. Cook Bible in Life curriculum, the Elementary take-home papers had a portion of the Action Bible in it each week. Kids loved these take-home papers . . . it was like getting a portion of a comic book each week and the great part was it was all about the Bible!

Now The Action Bible is available as a Bible which is perfect for elementary age kids as page after page they are captivated by the Biblical accounts they find. The Action Bible has 215 Bible accounts in chronological order. As the Action Bible says, "People don't usually think of God like this, but God is the original action hero. Everyone is so impressed when Superman blows a car over with his breath, yet God created the whole universe with His breath. Superman may save the day with his strength, but Jesus saved the whole world with His death. But here's the thing: The Action Bible is more than just the exciting stories of the past. Here and now, today, it inspires us to be God's next generation of difference-makers. The Stories in the Action Bible communicate biblical truth clearly and forcefully to contemporary readers. Careful attention to biblical accuracy keeps things trustworthy. And vivid illustrations in today's hottest style by accomplished illustrator Sergio Cariello capture the emotion and action of each character and event."
If you are looking for a bible which will engage your elementary-age readers, take a good look at the Action Bible. Available as Old and New Testament or just The Action Bible New Testament, it also offers a devotional written by Jeremy Jones with 52 weeks of God-Inspired adventures which give real-life ways to live out what your kids are learning. Each week's devotional includes a key verse, thoughts to connect the Bible account with a child's live, three ideas to help kids live what they are learning, three questions for kids to think about what they are learning and space to journal what they are learning. The Action Bible Devotional is the perfect match for the Action Bible! As they say, "People say a picture is worth a thousand words, right? The Action Bible is all about the pictures - cool pictures, comic pictures. And those pictures bring the stories of the Bible to life in whole new colorful ways, without having to use so many words. You can see the action jump off the page. You can understand the stories much more easily. And all that helps you bring the power of the Bible to life in your everyday world."

If all this wasn't enough, The Action Bible Handbook rounds out this set of resources which can help you engage children so they will not just be kids who read the Action Bible, but will also discover the real excitement in understanding and living God's Word in their everyday lives so they become teens and adults who read and live the Bible. The Action Bible Handbook is a dictionary of people, places and things and will help children better understand God's Word!

I'm happy to say, not only did Cook send me one of each of these books for review, but they are making another Action Bible available for me to give away! If you'd like to be in the drawing for The Action Bible (USA only), which will be on March 28, 2013,  please comment below to let me know if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG (not just liking the post) and/or have followed About the Children's Department by email.
