Focus - Depend on &Trust God . . . for Volunteers - Share the Joy!

I posted yesterday about our Focus . . . depending on and trusting God for the volunteers we need. Today I want to talk about sharing the joy!

When we serve in the place where God has created and gifted us to serve, we have joy; our hearts are glad! Who doesn't want to have hearts which are glad?!!! So, as you approach recruiting volunteers, share the joy! Consider the following -
  • Invite volunteers who are serving in the children's ministry to regularly share from the pulpit how they are experiencing joy by serving. People expect you to say serving in children's ministry is a wonderful thing, but when volunteers share why they love it and how serving makes their hearts glad, people sit up and pay attention.
  • Never be afraid to ask people to pray about getting involved. You are NOT asking them to do something terrible; quite the contrary! You are asking them to do something amazing! Something which will make their hearts glad and fill them with joy! NEVER apologize for asking someone to serve. NEVER approach it with the attitude it is something people will probably not want to do. When you ask people to get involved, remember, you are inviting them to do something which will make their hearts glad and fill them with joy!
So, as you focus on depending on and trusting God for the volunteers you need, be sure to share the joy when you talk with people about getting involved in your children's ministry!
