Let's Plan a Volunteer Recruitment Month! - "I Am Available" Theme!

If you have been reading my recruiting themes and want to try one, but do not have a lot of time to pull it together consider this one using the oldie, but definitely goodie, from Petra - my all-time favorite band - I Am Available!

Video hints – 

•  for the first verse show volunteers. 
• During the chorus show your volunteers working with the kids 
• for the remaining song show video of people in your church - people who might be "available"!

Recruiting Plan – begin two weeks before the actual start of your recruiting month with the following “teasers” covered with the words "available" and "go" hanging all over your church . . . put them on the mirrors in the bathrooms, doors, walls, on the floor, steps . . . anywhere you can think to hang them -

•  Week one – “My whole life was incomplete, till I laid it at your feet”
• Week two – “So use me as you will, I am available"

 Recruiting Month – 

• Week one - show the video and hand out badges with "Available" on it for volunteers, staff and elders to wear saying, “So use me as you will, I am available!”
•  Week two –  ask the Senior Pastor to speak briefly about what it means to be "available"; be sure everyone continues to wear their badges and have extras ready for people who volunteer.
•  Week three –  arrange for two volunteers to share their testimony as to how their lives became "complete" when they told God they were "available", be sure everyone continues to wear their badges and have extras ready for people who volunteer.
• Week four - show your video again, be sure everyone continues to wear their badges and have extras ready for people who volunteer.

 Each week include flyers in the bulletin and up-date your sign as to how many volunteer positions remain to be filled.
