Strengths -
- Biblically Sound
- Strong focus on teaching built around one main point based on a specific Bible verse/passage.
- "Jesus Connection" in each lesson helps connect the lesson to Jesus and Who He Is and What He does as well as our need for Him
- While there isn't an optional second service, there are enough options for activities, along with an additional way to present/review the lesson so you could easily use part of the lesson for Sunday school and the other part for Children's Church
- Variety of interactive options included for each lesson to engage children in thinking about the "point" of the Bible lesson
- Reproducible student materials
- Teacher Devotions
Would like to see -
- Live-It project options for each week for each age level
- "Put Feet to Their Faith" project to involve children in serving others each quarter
- Optional second service - there are enough options in each lesson to cover a Children's church for the younger children, but I'd like to see this for all ages
- Unified Scope and Sequence - some weeks they match, but other weeks they do not
Hands-On Bible is written with the goal of engaging children so they are able to learn and live God's Word for changed lives. If you are looking for a Non-Traditional curriculum with a focus on intentionally engaging kids so they are able to remember God's word and connect it to their everyday lives, this curriculum is well worth taking a look at to see if it may be a good "fit" for your ministry! Group says, "Hands-On Bible Curriculum uses unique games, sacks and crafts to help kids learn about God, because kids retain more by interacting with a lesson instead of just hearing it. Jesus used everyday things to teach important truths - and now you can too! Discovering the Bible will be a fun, hands-on experience which gets kids excited about coming to Sunday school."
