Doubt - It Does NOT Stop God!

Last week I posted a review of the book One Way Love: Inexhaustible Grace for an Exhausted World by Tullian Tchividjian. I said, this "is a book which I will enthusiastically recommend; even to the point of saying if you only read one book this year, make it One Way Love!" (I also announced a give-away of this book and there is still time for you to get in on this give-way!)

Sunday the pastor at my church preached about doubt. He said, "Every Christian experiences doubt. " This is so true. At some point in all of our lives we experience doubt. We doubt if God really called us. We may doubt if God is really with us. We may doubt if God is going to answer our prayers. Even in our ministries we experience doubt - will God send the volunteers? Does God want to use me in ministry?

Whatever the doubt, we all experience it. Often when the doubt comes, fear comes with it, we lose our focus and are distracted from God's Grace. Pastor Jim Samra said, God wants us to experience, power, joy and peace, but doubt makes us afraid. However, our doubt does not prevent God from saving us! Just as Jesus was not going to let Peter drown and rescued him from the waves; Jesus rescues us, too, because as Pastor Jim said, "Doubt does not stop God from doing what He was planning on doing!"

I loved how Trullian said our salvation is not dependent on the work we do to keep it. God's Grace is all we needed to be saved and it is God's Grace which insures our salvation. I also love how Pastor Jim said we, "go through doubt so God can save us from doubt!"

When we are in the midst of what God has commanded us to do, we may find ourselves experiencing doubt, but when this happens, we can know Jesus is with us, He will save us, He wants us to experience power, peace and joy and He will walk with us through doubt so He can save us from doubt!

Take some time to listen to this sermon; you'll find it at this link, and share this with the people in your ministry, your family, your friends - everyone you know!
