http://www.guardianconstructionvbs.com/
- We have a need - Nehemiah 1 & The Ten Commandments
- We can call on God - Nehemiah 2 & The Lord's Prayer
- We can trust God - Nehemiah 4 & King David
- We can love God's ways - Nehemiah 5:6-13 & Cain and Abel
- We must make a choice - Nehemiah 6:1-16 & Nehemiah
Setting – Construction Site Theme based on Nehemiah
Message – Children will, "Learn about building God’s way, as they begin their project learning the Ten Commandments and God’s purpose for the commandments—to show us our need for a Savior."
Focus - Evangelism, Bible Content
Strengths –
- Strong Bible content
- I am happy to see part of the Bible lessons involve children in opening their Bibles and reading - I'd like to see more of this and less of the teacher telling the story
- I'm happy to see creative lessons which involve the children in learning the Bible lesson for the day
- I like the tips to help churches find the supplies they need, "at a price they can afford"!
- With my concern and focus on safety, I would have liked to see a strong emphasis on safety in the director's materials.
- I would like to see activities for kids to go home and “live-it” with the service projects and time the following day for children to share what they did and how it impacted their lives
- Engagement of the children in the opening and closing . . . object lessons, science projects, things which generate enthusiasm, participation and tie in with the daily point to help children remember!
- More options for activity stations; the one for each day is creative, but it would be nice to have more options each day
Nourishing Faith says, "Our desire is to plant the seed of the word of God in the crew, faithfully trusting children will come to believe in the lead architect, Jesus Christ, the founder and perfecter of our faith." There is strong Bible content in this curriculum so if you are looking for a resource with a fun building setting, Guardian Construction from Nourishing Faith might be a good “fit” for your ministry.
I'm happy to say Nourishing Faith is making available one Guardian Construction kit for me to give away (USA only)! If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be included in the drawing for the Kit - which will be on February 1, 2014, please comment below to let me know how choosing to build your life God's way and call on God has changed your lives! For me, it goes beyond knowing He has forgiven me and given me eternal life to knowing He is with me each day and no problem is too big for Him!

Choosing to live God's way has kept me from making bad choices and calling on him reminds me that I always need him.
ReplyDeleteI think building my life on God has helped me a lot. In personal struggles, and also in ministry struggles, I know God is always with me.
