Mark your calendars for February 15th!!!

Before you do anything else today, mark your calendars for February 15th!!!

Grab a red pen and circle the date!!!! Why, you ask? Well, because it is the day after Valentine's Day!!!! So, you ask? Because the day after Valentine's Day all the heart-shaped Valentine's Day candies go on clearance!!!! 

Why would you want to buy heart-shaped candies? Well, please allow me to share just a few of the many things you can do with heart-shaped candies in your children's ministry . . . 

• You can give them to volunteers all year long, (tag them with a note which says, "You are a loved part of our children's ministry!" or "Thank you for sharing the love of Jesus with the children and families in our ministry!") and since you picked them up on on February 15th, you were able to get them at clearance prices!!!! (I love the word "sale" and "clearance" is an even more "lovable" word!!!) :^)
• You can give them to potential volunteers when you are spending the month of April on recruiting (tag them with a note which says, "We would love to have you be part of our children's ministry team!!!" - be sure to check back to this blog all of April as I'll be focusing on recruiting the entire month!)
• You can give them to children as a special treat (tag them with a note which says, "God loves you and so do we!")

Of course, you could keep them on your desk as a way to brighten the day of all who enter your office . . . that is if you can manage to keep from eating them yourself! :^)

So, what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars!!! Underline February 15th! Circle it! Draw a few hearts on this date and plan to head for your local stores and buy heart-shaped candies!!!! :^)
