Minion Inspired Thoughts About Recruiting!

I love recruiting . . . yes, I know you may think I'm crazy, but I love it because it means I'm inviting people to experience the amazing joy which comes from serving and besides, children's ministry is great fun! We play games, sing songs, make crafts, do science experiments, have dramas and most importantly, learn how we can know and walk with Jesus! What could possibly be better?

I also really enjoyed the movies, Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 - so, when I saw the clip with the Minions changing a light-bulb,  after laughing, I immediately thought about how it applied to recruiting - yes recruiting! The one Minion can not reach the socket on his own to change the light-bulb, so rather than continue to try to do it on his own or give up, he called for other Minions to help him! With the other Minion's help, he is able to reach the socket. Of course, being Minions, they have to fall - in a very funny way - and then, well, watch the clip to see what happens . . . it is, after all, the Minions!

But, as you recruit for your children's ministry keep in mind this thought: get others to help! Have current volunteers talk to their friends and invite them to consider getting involved, make table tents which you put in your bulletins for families to take home and place on their tables so they can pray for more people to get involved, keep the children's ministry in the eyes of the church and as you all come together to accomplish your goal of finding more volunteers, you will be overjoyed to see how God sends the people you need!
