If you, like me, have not personally visited any of these places, books can be wonderful resources to help the children in your ministry be able to picture and better understand what these places are like and better understand what it might have been like to live there as well. Of course knowing these things can help children to have a fuller understanding of the Bible, so resources like the "Let's Go Explore" books from Zonderkidz are worthwhile books to have in your children's ministry classes or your library. I'm very happy today for the opportunity to let you know about these books and to give some away!

- Scripture printed in the NIV for ease of understanding
- Amazing, beautiful photos make these books very interesting to see
- Books share, places to go, sights to see, culture to experience, couiosities to consider and words to work on
- Maps show where the area is in the world and close-ups for where specific locations can be found
- Interesting facts and "tid-bits" of history throughout each book is something I especially enjoyed when reading them!
- Wonderful photos throughout help you feel like you are almost there yourself!
Zonderkidz says; "Complete with photographs, maps, vocabulary call-outs, fun facts and more, this is the perfect resource for the young explorer. Read about the Biblical significance and history of these locations as well as current and curious information about food, clothing and places of the region."
These books are great resources to have in your children's ministry as they focus on a specific place and share great information and photos to help "bring to life" some of the locations where the accounts in the Bible took place!

I'm very happy to say, not only did Zonderkidz send me one set of the Let's Go Explore Books for review, but they are making another set available for me to give away (USA only)! If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be included in the drawing for this Bible - which will be on May 15, 2014, please comment below to share a Bible location which you would really like to visit; for me it would have to be the area where Jesus likely gave the Sermon on the Mount - the Northern area of Lake Kinneret/Sea of Galilee.
In addition if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG or at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed About the Children's Department by email you will receive one entry for each of these which you have done. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive another entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win the set of Let's Go Explore books and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading About the Children's Department and for sharing it with the people you know!

ReplyDeleteI would really like to visit Egypt, to see the Nile River where baby Moses was placed for that fateful "find" by Pharoah's daughter. I also follow you on Facebook & by email.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the Nile River in Egypt - to imagine baby Moses being placed in the bullrushes for the princess to "find" him.
