So, today, let's take a look at Isaiah 40 . . .
Isaiah 40:8-31 – “8Flowers and grass fade away, but what our God has said will never change. 9There is good news "Your God is here!" 11The LORD cares for his nation, just as shepherds care for their flocks. He carries the lambs in his arms, while gently leading the mother sheep. 12Did any of you measure the ocean by yourself or stretch out the sky with your own hands? Did you put the soil of the earth in a bucket or weigh the hills and mountains on balance scales? 13Has anyone told the LORD what he must do or given him advice? 14Did the LORD ask anyone to teach him wisdom and justice? Who gave him knowledge and understanding? 15To the LORD, all nations are merely a drop in a bucket or dust on balance scales; 18Who compares with God? Is anything like him? 21Don't you know? Haven't you heard? Isn't it clear that God created the world? 22God is the one who rules the whole earth, and we that live here are merely insects. He spread out the heavens like a curtain or an open tent. 25The holy God asks, "Who compares with me? Is anyone my equal?" 26Look at the evening sky! Who created the stars? Who gave them each a name? Who leads them like an army? The LORD is so powerful that none of the stars are ever missing. 28Don't you know? Haven't you heard? The LORD is the eternal God, Creator of the earth. He never gets weary or tired; his wisdom cannot be measured. 29The LORD gives strength to those who are weary. 30Even young people get tired, then stumble and fall. 31But those who trust the LORD will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired.” (NCV)This is Good News indeed! Our God never changes and He is here! Our God does rule the universe and nothing and no one compares with Him; the Creator of it all! I find great comfort in knowing He is so powerful none of the stars are ever missing and He never gets tired; I sure do! Which is why, I am so happy to see I can ask HIm for strength and when I trust Him, He will give me the strength I need! Definitely Good News!
So, if you would like to pray these verses back to God, consider using this prayer . . .
Dear God, on this day I want to praise You for Your justice and righteousness and how the fruit of Your righteousness gives me peace. I thank You for the quietness and confidence Your peace gives me and rejoice in knowing this will be forever! I find strength in knowing Your people will have peace, security and undisturbed places of rest. Thank You I belong to You! Dear Lord, please be gracious to me; I long for You. Please be my strength every morning and my salvation in times of distress. I exalt You Lord and thank You for being my sure foundation for my times! I am so thankful for the rich store of salvation, wisdom and knowledge You provide for me. It is a true treasure! Thank You for being my Mighty One, my Judge and my King Who saves me! Please strengthen my hands and when my heart fears, remind me to be strong and not to be afraid because You will come! I praise You because You will open the eyes of the blind and ears of the deaf; You will cause the lame to leap and mute to shout for joy at Your return! We will all praise You with everlasting joy because sorrow and sighing will be gone and in their place we will have gladness and joy! Thank You! Amen!
