Jesus Came to Heal and Offer Mercy . . . Let's Be Like Jesus!

With the news of late it is a good time to stop and remember what Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9)

Our world is broken and there are people - including ourselves - who are hurt, wounded and who need to be healed. Let's be intentional about being people who offer this mercy and healing to all who we come in contact with - children, families, volunteers, neighbors; everyone.

The church makes the mistake, all too often, of being harsh. Jesus was not harsh. Let's be like Jesus and offer mercy to our world - it needs it, and so do we.
