Focus - God is Great!

When it comes to children's ministry, there is often more than one thing to focus on . . . the vision for the ministry, selecting the resources to best help you accomplish your vision, sharing your vision with others, finding, training, supporting volunteers, communicating effectively with parents . . . the list could, and often does, go on and on. But, what is your real focus? What is one thing you really need to keep at the top of your list? I believe it is spiritual growth. We can not give to others what we do not have for ourselves.

So, as you go through this week, keep your focus on what you can do to grow in your walk with God and see how this impacts your overall ministry. Consider the following from Psalm 86 . . .
  • Depend on God
  • Put yourself in
  • God's hands
  • Cry out to God for help
  • Rest in the absolute confidence God does hear and will answer!
  • There is no one like God!
Think this week about the great things God does - watch for them, notice them, and be sure to thank God for them! Look a Psalm 86:10; "And the great things you do - God, you're the one, there's no one but you!" (The Message) Do you stop to take notice of the great things God is doing? The great things He does in your life, your family, and your ministry?

Make this your prayer as you go through this week . . .
Dear God on this day I want to thank You for the great things You do! I praise You because there is no one like You. No other can do the great things You do! As I go through this day, please lift my heart in praise to You as You show me all the many ways, big and small, which showcase how great You are! Please remind me when I'm frustrated or when I worry, You are great! You do great things and nothing compares to You! Thank You for Your love for me; I love You, too! Amen.
