If you are a Children's Ministry pastor or director, you are able to make decisions about what is done, how it is done, when it is done, who will do it, etc. As the leader, you should be able to make these decisions, but pay attention to these decisions. The decisions you make do impact others and just because you can make these decisions, it does not necessarily mean you should. Perhaps making a decision, while you "can" do so, it will cause harm to others and is not a very "kind" thing to do.
I read an amazing verse yesterday which I want t share with you; Hebrews 6:10 - "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."
Think about it; God will not forget your work and the love you show Him as you help His people! This tells me God notices what we do; how and where we serve . . . and how and where the volunteers serve as well! And, He does not forget any of our service to Him and others!
Keep this in mind as you make decisions which effect volunteers. As staff, you can make decisions; but just because you can do so, it does not mean you should. Be careful because you can harm others if the decisions you make are selfish.
