Message/Theme – Children - and families - will, "journey through the whole Bible - from Genesis to Revelation - to discover the BIG story of the Bible - God's Great Rescue Plan! - and what it means for them today!"
Focus – Evangelism, Content and Application
Strengths –
Strengths –
- LOVE the focus of helping children and families understand so they can explain and know so they can live God's Word!
- Written to engage entire families - parents included - so they can all learn together, separate for focused learning and join back together so they can continue the conversation at home.
- What's in the Bible has solid Bible teaching
- Opening and close are full of energy and excitement - children and families will enjoy the activities/games/challenges!
- Strong focus on helping children and families become Bible literate.
- Options provided and fully designed for either a "traditional" VBS or a Family VBS event.
- Music is well done. . . songs are Scripture songs and communicate the message, but I'd rather see just kids singing; not the same, one adult and the songs sound like the same song with just different verses - more variety in sound would be nice.
Would like to see –
- Service projects and mission projects.
- Daily "Live-it" activities and time for children to share how they lived what they learned.
- Complete director's book with information about safety, special needs, etc.
- More options for crafts - or perhaps, substitute activities children could complete and donate to community shelters, church pantries/closets, etc.
- Children engaged in the Bible teaching
Jellyfish One says, "The What’s in the Bible? VBS is a one-of-kind shared family experience which will bring the families in your church closer together as they journey through the Bible – from Genesis to Revelation. Kids will walk away from the week knowing the BIG story of the Bible – God’s Great Rescue Plan! – and what it means to live as a Christian. Parents will walk away with a new understanding of the Bible, how to lead their families through the tricky parts of the Bible and a life of faith, and how to engage their family in God’s redemptive mission in the world. The What’s in the Bible? VBS comes with everything you need for 2 versions of VBS – a traditional VBS and a family VBS."
I love the energy and enthusiasm What's in the Bible brings with their VBS! Solid Bible teaching which engages children and parents; the entire family for learning which will leave them all talking about the big picture of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation! Definitely take a good look at What's in the Bible to see if it is a good fit for your church - it could be a great option for a family event!
I'm very happy to say not only did Jellyfish One send me one What's in the Bible VBS for me to review, but they are making another complete VBS kit along with 20 packs of 21 Day Family Devotional Journals and Proclaim-Live-Do wrist bands available for me to give away (USA only)! If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be included in the drawing for the What's in the Bible VBS package - which will be on February 6, 2015, please comment below to let me know your favorite book in the Bible - for me it has to be 1 and 2 Peter!
In addition if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG or at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed About the Children's Department by email you will receive one entry for each of these which you have done. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive another entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win the What's in the Bible VBS package and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading About the Children's Department and for sharing it with the people you know!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite books of the Bible are Exodus and Esther, as well as the Gospels. These are my favorite stories, and it's even cooler that they're true. I shared on Facebook and Google Plus.
