Graham Blanchard says; "As children imagine the sights, sounds, feelings, and tastes evoked in To The Sea, they can take part in one boy’s adventurous day there, with its surprises and rewards. In Graham Blanchard’s Learn, Absorb & Praise™ Collection, To The Sea is a Praise book, which wonders at the amazing miracles found in everyday life and praises the God who made them."
My grandsons were at my house when To The Sea arrived, so Josiah (age six) sat right down to read it to his younger brothers. Josiah thought the story did a good job of describing a day at the beach. I like the illustrations and the focus throughout the story of the little things we may not stop to notice which are part of a day at the beach. I like also, how the story makes it very easy to engage children in wiggling their toes and thanking God for His wondrous creation - of the sea and of them as well!
As I mentioned above, Graham Blanchard not only sent a copy of To The Sea for me to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only). If you are over 18 years old and you'd like to be in the drawing for To The Sea, which will be on May 16, 2015, please comment below to let me know if you have ever been to the sea - I have been to the West Coast, on the beach a few times, but since I live in West Michigan, I've been to Lake Michigan many more times and spent my summers as a child living in a house on a lake!
