Dispatch & INCM & The Action Bible Study Bible ESV

For the past several days I've been writing about the resources inside the first Dispatch box from INCM. Today I'll be writing about another item from the box, but first I want to write about INCM, in case you are not particularly familiar with them.

It is possible you might be wondering, "What is INCM?" If this is a question you've been asking, please allow me to give you a brief overview . . . INCM stands for; International  Network of Children's Ministry. Their purpose is captured very well in their mission statement; "The mission of INCM is to be a connecting platform for training, resourcing and inspiring those who minister to children and their families."

INCM began in 1980 and has grown in scope and ministry because they have a heart for serving those who serve children and families in the church - both here in the USA and around the world. You may be familiar with INCM through CPC (Children's Pastor
Conference) which is a training opportunity from INCM. You will find out more about INCM at this link.

Dispatch is a new opportunity for INCM to serve those in children's ministry, as INCH says; "Dispatch was created to answer the most common question from children's ministry leaders: 'Where do I find the best ideas?' With Dispatch #kidmin no longer need to search websites, scour Pinterest, or raid the curriculum closet. We thoughtfully curate a selection of the latest ideas and products, assemble and ultimately deliver them in a quarterly box to children's and family ministry leaders everywhere."

The first Dispatch box focused on, "Inspiration" and I have to say they have done an excellent job of finding resources which "inspire"! Today I'm happy to take a closer look at another of these "inspiring" resources . . . The Action Bible Study Bible ESV.

You are likely familiar with the Action Bible - I have reviewed it a number of times over the years, but you may not realize there is an actual Bible which combines God's Word, the illustrations of the Action Bible and real study resources for a Bible children can take to church with them and more importantly, use at home to grow in their walk with Jesus.

The Action Bible Study Bible ESV is published by David C Cook and they say; "The Action Bible has introduced millions of kids to God's Story through pictures. Now, preteens can go deeper into the heart of God's Word with The Action Bible Study Bible ESV. Through a combination of interesting Bible features and amazing artwork, preteens will experience dramatic stories, meet fascinating characters, travel to ancient worlds, and most of all, see God in action everywhere - including their own lives.

This essential Study Bible helps preteens build a foundation of faith to last a lifetime. Within these pages . . . you’ll read the most amazing true stories and see God’s Word come to life in incredible detail with dramatic illustrations from comic book artist, Sergio Cariello. You’ll explore ancient worlds in new and exciting ways and meet fascinating kings and queens, heroic warriors, faithful prophets, and daring revolutionaries. And, within your life, you will see God in action! Combined with the complete text of the ESV Bible, The Action Bible Study Bible ESV includes these amazing features:
  • What About This?Gain insights to tough questions about faith
  • Unlock It!Who did what, when, and where … and why it matters
  • Guess It!Person, place, or thing—take the challenge with 5 clues
  • ActivateReflect on Bible themes and how they apply now
  • Ancient ArchivesDiscover the cultural history of ancient times – what were weapons, food, clothes, houses, celebrations and traditions like?
  • Experience the DramaComic book artist Sergio Cariello’s dramatic illustrations captures the imagination and transports you to another time.
  • Plus book introductions, maps, a dictionary, and more!
I like how The Action Bible Study Bible ESV combines the full text of the ESV Bible, for ease of understanding and Biblical accuracy, with the illustrations of the Action Bible, but did not stop there. They went on to add resources which will open God's Word for children and help them be able to understand and see it is truly for them!

I can see where this would make a wonderful Bible to give children in our ministries - it is very "child friendly". But the best part is while the "comic book" illustrations will get their attention, since it is truly a full and complete Bible, children will be able to experience how God's Word is truly for them; which will keep them "coming back"!

As a grandma, I can see where The Action Bible Study Bible ESV is a Bible which would capture the attention and curiosity of my grandsons. I'm planning to use it with my grandsons as we work through my curriculum this summer.

So, once again, The Action Bible Study Bible ESV leaves me looking at Dispatch and fully believing it is worth every penny!
