On my other blog, grandma's cookie jar, I reviewed Sovereign from Michael W. Smith - and announced a giveaway of a CD.I have been a "fan" of Michael W. Smith's clear vocals and solid messages through song since the early '80's when my husband and I found his first tape - yes, back then we bought cassette tapes! Sovereign seems, to me, to be a project which springs from a heart which has lived life; experienced ups and downs and comes out with the firm belief, "No valley low changes the truth. So I'm not afraid. You hold me close. You lead me through. Light up the way. You are the ancor for my soul, You won't let go, You won't let go! No matter what may come I know, You won't let go, You won't let go!" I can identify with this, for sure!
The songs on Sovereign encourage, call us to worship and lead us in prayer - it is an album which will touch your soul. It is one I will listen to, praise God with and pray to God; and one I will share with my grandsons as the messages in these songs are absolutely ones I want them to hear.
