A Grandparenting Ministry could . . .
- Engage grandparents in praying intentionally for their grandchildren. They could pray together, share prayer requests and be equipped and encouraged to help their grandchildren learn to be people who pray.
- Provide small groups and Sunday school classes where grandparents; especially new and expecting grandparents - learn what it means to pass on a heritage of faith to their grandchildren.
- Provide resources for grandparents to use to both learn how to pass on a heritage of faith, and use to do exactly this.
- Provide opportunities for grandparents and grandchildren to do things together - at holidays, in the summer . . . anytime!
- Encourage grandparents to attend conferences to learn more about how to engage their grandchildren and pass on a heritage of faith.
These are just a few ideas - there are more - of ways your church could engage, equip and encourage grandparents to pass on a heritage of faith to their grandchildren. When you do this, you are providing a Grandparenting Ministry!
What might you do to engage, equip and encourage the grandparents at your church?
