VBS Recruiting - Joy!

I've been writing about recruiting for VBS with a focus on "view-finder", "perspective" and "creativity"; today I want to talk about recruiting with a focus on joy! This is the one essential thing to keep in mind whenever you think about recruiting for anything, as joy is the most important thing! Consider the following . . . 

• God gives us His love, grace and forgiveness! When we accept these gifts, we experience joy!
• God also gives us gifts which we can use to serve Him (Ephesians 4) . . . when we use them, we experience joy!
• In addition, God gives us gifts . . . including the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5). When we use the Fruit, we experience joy!

We NEVER need to feel "bad" about asking people to volunteer or feel like we are asking them to do something they will likely not enjoy. The truth is, we are giving them the opportunity to use the gifts God has given them, and when they do, they will experience such amazing joy . . . what isn't there to LOVE about this?!!!

Remember the joy when you recruit for VBS . . . and for anything in your children's ministry, because serving God is not a drudgery or something to avoid or dread. Quite the contrary. Serving God means we will experience joy and this is something wonderful!

Share the joy - the joy you experience from serving, and be sure to let others know they can experience the same joy!
