So, today I'm very happy to share with you an article on the Christian Grandparenting Network which explains what, "intentional" is and looks like when it comes to passing on a heritage of faith. You will find this article at the following link, but before you check it out - and I most sincerely hope you will take a minute or two to read it - I want to introduce you to the Christian Grandparenting Network.
You may think, and rightly so, the Christian Grandparenting Network is a resource for grandparents . . . after all, it is called the Christian Grandparenting Network! However; it is not just for grandparents. Parents and those who serve in Children's Ministry would also benefit from the posts and resources you'll find on this site. How, you ask? Well, consider the following . . .
- It is likely there are grandparents in your ministry who are raising their grandchildren. This means it is important for you, as someone who serves in Children's Ministry, to know about resources for these grand - parents. I've heard it said; and believe it to be true, the most tired people in your ministry are the grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. You not only should serve as a resource to and be encouraging these grand -parents, but you must. They may not have the time or energy to find resources like the Christian Grandparenting Network - you can help them by recommending resources such as this where they will find encouragement, help and resources they will actually be able to use.
- As someone who serves in Children's Ministry, it is important for you to know about the issues grandparents are facing in your ministry - whether they are raising their grandchildren or not. How can you support, engage, equip and encourage them if you do not know the issues facing them and the resources available to them?
- Parents need to know about these resources for the same reasons - and what a great way for them to encourage their parents!
- And, many of the wonderful ideas and articles on the Christian Grandparenting Network are ideas and information parents will find helpful for them, too!
These are just a few of the reasons why you - and the parents in your ministry - will benefit from reading the Christian Grandparenting Network's site. Check it out and recommend it to the parents and grandparents in your ministry - you will be so glad you did . . . and so will they!
And, while you are at it, don't forget to sign up for the Million Praying Grandparents - if you have not done so already - and encourage the grandparents in your church to do the same!
