Continuity . . .

As we think about Family Ministry, I want to talk about an important topic . . . continuity. So, what is continuity and why does it matter when we talk about Family Ministry? What does it look like in Children's Ministry and how do we have it? How do we know if we do not have it? These are important questions to think about . . . and find answers to. Consider the following . . .
  • Do you know what the vision/purpose is for your Children's Ministry?
  • Do you know what the vision/purpose is for your Parent's Ministry?
  • Do you know what the vision/purpose is for your Grandparent's Ministry?
  • Do you know what the vision/purpose is for your Family Ministry?
  • Do you have continuity between your Children's, Parent's, Grandparent's, and Family Ministries?
If you do not know your vision/purpose for your Children's, Parent's, Grandparent's, and Family Ministries, how can you move forward in any of these areas? You have to know what you want to accomplish if you are going to accomplish anything. If you do not know your vision/purpose for your Children's, Parent's, Grandparent's, and Family Ministries, how can you have any continuity? What are you doing in each area of your Children's, Parent's, Grandparent's, and Family Ministries? Do each of these areas have their own vision/purpose specific to each area, but which still connect? They are separate areas of ministry, but if we are going to be genuinely effective in each, do they not have to have a continuity? What do you do to connect each of these ministries? They cannot just be "islands unto themselves". They have to connect. How do you connect them? I'll consider some answers to these questions in following posts.
