Is Your Ministry Grateful or Greedy?

I had the wonderful opportunity to read an excellent article about parenting - you will find it at this link. Please read it and share it with every parent in your ministry. I love how it ends -
Our children, yours and mine, they need so very little and give so very much. They need compassion, security, respect, Faith and morals to guide them; they need our love. They need our eyes on them as they show their latest skill, our ears open to hear their latest story, our minds and hearts fully present when we sit with them to play, to read, to be. In the end… this is everything they need. What our children really need from us – it doesn’t cost a thing.
This is the truth!

Then, after you read this, stop and think about your ministry. Do you show gratefulness or greed? Do you have to have all the newest and "best" resources or are you content with what you have?

Consider what you could do if you were satisfied and thankful for what you have . . .
  • With the money you spend on the "newest" and "best" you could instead invest in families in your ministry and community.
  • You could truly communicate a powerful message to families and children if you modeled gratefulness and contentment.
  • You could actually challenge families to, "do what I do" if you were grateful and content.
These are just a few ideas of how it can make a difference in your ministry if you are content and thankful. What else do you think it might do?
