The Top Five "Do-Not's" for Children's Ministry . . . #1 - Do Not Forget to Point Children to Jesus!

For the past few days I've been talking about my Top Five Do-Not's when it comes to Children's Ministry - today I'm sharing with you my Top Do-Not . . .
  • Do not fail to point the children in your ministry to God . . . it is essential for them to know how very much God loves them - and they can love Him back!
This may seem like a "no-brainer", but if you are going to commit to be certain you are pointing children to Jesus, what can you do to be sure you are doing this? Consider the following ideas . . .
  • Add into your evaluation process a step to be certain the activities and events you plan also points children to God and helps them know how much God loves them and they can love Him back.
  • Train your volunteers to be sure to keep this point front and center of all they do.
  • Make certain you connect what you do with how children can know and love the God Who knows and loves them.
It is far too easy to become distracted and caught up in events and activities and lose sight of the most important thing - pointing children to God. Make sure you do not do this.

So, we have looked at my Top Five Do-Not's in Children's Ministry. There are more, "Do-Not's", but these five are at the top of my list. What would you put at the top of your "Do-Not's" list?
