We absolutely need to be people who listen to children, families and volunteers in our ministries. If they have something to tell us, we need to make the time to listen. There are certainly many reasons we need to listen, but today I'm sharing with you my reason #3 -- Because if it is important to them, it is important to us! And, by listening we know how to pray for them.
I know as far as my grandsons are concerned, if they want to tell me something I want to listen, because it is important to them - which makes it important to me. This has to be true for us when it comes to the children, families and volunteers in our ministries, too. If they are taking the time to tell us about something, it is important; to them and to us.
Plus, when we listen to the things which are important to them, we will better know how to pray for them. This in itself is enough reason to listen!
