Take Time to Spend Time - Isaiah 12 - Find Your Salvation in God!

Yesterday I said, "As we move through the Summer, we can become extremely focused on getting ready for the Fall ministries to begin. While there is good reason for this, it is also important for us to stay focused on God and how our ministries are really His. Yes, we have work to do, but it is God who moves people's hearts to get involved and serve; not us! So, in all your busyness, do not forget to spend time with God each day."

Then I shared a passage from Isaiah 57 and a scripture prayer with you. Today I want to share another passage with you; this time from Isaiah 12 . . .
Isaiah 12 – 1 In that day you will say: “I will praise you, LORD. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. 2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” 3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. 4 In that day you will say: “Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. 5 Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. 6 Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.” (NIV)
Isn't this an amazing passage? It can be easy to overlook Isaiah, but there are so many passages in this Book which encourage and challenge us! Just think about this passage! God has turned His anger away from us and gives us comfort and salvation, so we do not have to be afraid! God Himself is our strength, defense and salvation; this absolutely does fill my heart with joy and leaves me wanting to praise His name! This is why we are able to make known to the nations - and the children and families in our ministries - what He has done and leaves us exalting His name and singing for joy!

As you think through Isaiah 12, consider making this your prayer . . .
Dear God, on this day I want to praise You LORD! Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away and You have comforted me! You are my Salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. You LORD, You are my strength and my defense and have become my salvation! With joy I will draw waters from the wells of salvation. I will give praise to You, LORD. I will proclaim Your name; make known among the nations what You have done and proclaim Your name is exalted. I will sing to You because You have done glorious things; let this be known throughout the world! I will shout and sing for joy because the Holy One is with me! Thank You! Amen!
