I've talked about having a foundation of prayer by praying for volunteers and being people of prayer who pray for the Children's Ministry, but today I want to focus on a specific type of prayer; prayer of thanksgiving! Consider the following . . .
- We pray about a lot of things in our Children's Ministry; this means we are asking God for a lot of things.
- How often do we focus as much on thanking God as we do on asking Him for things?
Yes, we can, do and should go to God with our requests, but when God answers our prayers do we ever do more than just offer a passing, "thank You" to God for answering our prayers? Have you ever stopped to consider how we sound to God? Do we sound like ungrateful children who are always asking for more things, but who never really stop to give thanks for what we have?
There are several ways we can be people who are intentional and focused on giving thanks - I'll write about these in the coming weeks - but you can certainly begin with setting aside time when you pray to be thankful for the many ways - big and small - where God does answer our prayers!

How do you make praying your thanks to God an essential part of your Children's Ministry?
