Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. As we work with the children in our ministries, we need to help them learn to show love to others and follow Colossians 4 - treat others wisely, have all they say be full of grace and seasoned well.
We need to be people who watch and are certain the children in our ministries do these things with all the other children. Do not let a child sit by themselves, excluded from the others. Do not let cliques form and take root in our ministries. If the children in our ministries do not show these things in the way they treat other children in our ministries, how can we think they will be any different at school or in their neighborhoods?
Especially now when children see and hear on the television so many people who say hateful things about others and call them names, we have to help them learn to, "make the most of every opportunity" and to "be wise in the way they treat others".
Be sure you model these things as well.
