So, today I want to look at what Scripture has to say about being thankful. Consider the following . . .
- 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV - Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
- Psalm 107:1 ESV - Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
- Ephesians 5:20 ESV - Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Just these three verses show us God wants us to be thankful people, who are thankful for everything! So, in the coming week, as you go through each day, watch, focus and be quick to be thankful. Make being thankful an intentional part of your day - and you do have much for which to be thankful - consider the following . . .
- God is good!
- God's steadfast love lasts forever!
- The volunteers serving in your ministry.
- The church in which you serve.
- The children and families in your church.
These are just a few of the obvious things for which you have to be thankful - make it a point to watch today - and the rest of the week - for how God shows His goodness and steadfast love to you and then be quick to be thankful!
On Sunday, share with the children some of the obvious, and less obvious things for which you were thankful this week and challenge them to watch and be thankful in the coming week as well!
