But, please, please, while this book is absolutely one for you to keep on hand for the parents/grandparents in your ministry who experience divorce, do not limit yourself to this view of the single parent: confident and successful. This is a book you will absolutely want to make available to every parent and grandparent in your ministry as it is filled with wisdom, truth from Scripture and practical how-to of raising confident and successful children in confident and successful families and this is something we want for all families in our ministries.
It is my delight today to let you know about this wonderful resource and source of encouragement. I do have to say, have tissues handy - and encourage the people you give it to to do so as well - as this book is going to touch your hearts in deep and powerful ways. As I read this book I learned much about how I will be better able to confidently and successfully hand faith to my grandchildren - and grown children as well - even though I and they are not single grandparents/parents. I am very happy to recommend, the single parent: confident and successful, to all parents and grandparents.

The Single Parent will encourage you in your journey and help avert problems before they arise. It is filled with wise counsel, biblical truth, and real-life stories--the author's own as well as those of the many single moms and dads who have come across her path through the years. It will help you bolster your abilities in such areas as
· improving your child's behavior
· negotiating boundaries
· graciously seeking and accepting help from others
· trusting God in the process
God cares for the single parent and will provide for you and your children. Let this book give you the tools you need as you walk with Him in this journey."
Powerful, eye-opening, encouraging, wise, practical; I could go on, but all of these accurately describe the single parent: confident and successful. This is absolutely a book you will want to read, take to heart, and give to the parents/grandparents in your ministry whether you/they are a single parents/grandparents, or not. I love how Linda wove Bible truth throughout each chapter and showed how God cares about single parents by sharing true accounts from the Bible about single parents.
As I read the single parent: confident and successful, God used Linda's words to encourage and challenge me as I hand faith to my grandsons - even though I am not a single parent or grandparent. I was deeply touched - did I mention be sure to keep tissues handy??? - and feel more equipped to hand faith to my grandsons and grown children as well.
This is not a book you will read once and think; "Great book!" Although it is a great book. This is a book you will read, then read again to underline the parts which stand out to you. Then you will read it again to highlight the parts which impact you powerfully. Then you will read it again and fill it with sticky note strips, so you will be able to find the parts you want to be sure to implement asap. Be aware - there will be lots of this book which you underline, highlight and you will have no shortage of sticky note strips sticking out of this book. This is not a book you will put on a shelf after you read it. It is a book you will keep on your end table, kitchen counter or coffee table - somewhere you will see it and refer to it again and again. These are just some of the reasons you will want to give it to the parents/grandparents in your church - because it will be read and implemented and will change the lives of families and children - whether they are single families or not.
