Connect with Children & Families - Equip them During Covid & Beyond

At all times, but especially now with covid changing so much about how churches connect with families/children, we need to be focused upon equipping parents/ grandparents so they are able to hand down the faith and teach the "whys" - why we are able to believe God is real and trust Him with confidence - at home. If you ask the parents and grandparents if they are handing down the faith and teaching the "whys" for a confident faith, they will likely mostly say no. But it isn't because they don't want to do this - most often it is because they do not know how to engage the children they love and connect with them in meaningful and memorable ways.

Since most churches are still not holding in-person opportunities for children, this is the perfect time to focus upon helping parents and grandparents connect with the children they love. But, what do you use to do this? Well, I've recently written a resource which will give you either 12 or 24 weeks or one year of resources which are perfect to help you connect with children who are not at church and equip parents and grandparents to hand down the faith and teach the "whys" - depending on the timeline you choose to use. It is designed to equip parents and grandparents so they are able to hand down the faith and teach the "whys", so the children they love will have a confident faith.

• As a ministry, invite families to discover and learn about the same animal the same week - you could do this one week a month and make the book last for a full year, or every other week, making it last two quarters, or every week, making the book last for 12 weeks. 
• Whatever schedule you set for working your way through the book as a church and individual families, connect throughout the week to ask families what they found the most interesting, for photos of how their project went, and to share ideas/results.
• Find some additional ideas for activities/questions you could email to families to extend the fun and learning.
