Anchored is Almost Ready!

In past posts I have written about how it is essential for churches to teach both the "whats" - what the Bible says and therefore what we believe - along with teaching the "whys" - why we are able to believe God is real, the Bible is true, God and science do go together, and God is good. Pretty much all curriculum resources teach the "whats". There is a solid reason for this - churches legitimately want to teach children what we believe. This is more than an appropriate thing for them to do - it is essential.

But, apart from BioLogos' new curriculum resource - Integrate (you will find it at this link - https://biologos.org/integrate) - there are no solid resources which teach the "whys" - especially for young children through middle-school age children (Integrate is for middle school - college age young people and is designed mostly for home/Christian school use - but it is excellent so definitely encourage the youth/young adult people in your church to check it out and consider how you might use it in your church.)

Barna has the studies which show us young people (Gen Z) are turning away from their faith to atheism at double the rate of previous generations. They are leaving their faith, not because they did not learn the "whats" - they are leaving because they did not learn the "whys". This does not have to continue to happen. We are able to teach the "whys".

I have written a supplemental curriculum resource to help churches team up with parents and grandparents to teach the "whys" to the children they love. This is a supplemental curriculum - it is not meant to replace whatever curriculum you are using in your Children's Ministry, rather it is designed to use alongside (just a few minutes each week) and have parents/grandparents continue to learning at home.
