When I think of the word "faithful", I think of God; He is ALWAYS faithful! Just look at these wonderful verses which tells us of God's incredible faithfulness:
- Psalm 36:5-6 5 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.
- Psalm 100:4-5 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
- Lamentations 3:22-24 22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.24 I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."
- 1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
When I teach children about faithfulness, I tell them being faithful means you keep on doing what you said you will do. God has promised to love us and He is faithful because He keeps on loving us!
Being "faithful" also means "sticking with", so this is where I have an awesome science project/object lesson you can do with the children in your ministry to help them better understand what it means to be faithful and to "stick with" God! Just check this link for the specifics of this amazing project where you are able to turn a cup of water upside down and keep the water inside! Kids absolutely WILL remember this!
