Remember This One Essential Truth - God Cares the Most!

Over the years (53 of them to be exact), I've had the opportunity to observe Children's Ministry in large churches (of up to 6000) and in small churches (of less than 100) and in medium-sized churches (everything in-between!). This leaves me with a few observations which I think apply no matter what size church you serve in.  So, today I want to consider something which we all need to keep in mind . . . no matter the size of church in which you serve!

While it may seem like a no-brainer; God cares the most! I think it can be all to easy too get so caught up in what we are doing, what we need, what we do not have, etc. we end up forgetting this one, simple, and essential truth . . . God cares the most! He cares the most about . . .

  • The shape of our own heart. Are we worn out? God cares the most! Are we discouraged? God cares the most! Are we stressed? God cares the most! Are we joyful? God cares the most!
  • The ministry needs which burden us the most. Are we concerned about certain children who have serious needs? God cares the most! Are we concerned about certain families who have serious needs? God cares the most! Do we need more volunteers? God cares the most! Do we have budget issues? God cares the most!
  • The politics which cause pain. Are there people who make your "job" difficult? God cares the most! Is there gossip which is causing division and pain? God cares the most!
  • All the things we need to do in a 24 hour day, but which take many, many more hours to finish. God cares the most!
Well, I could go on, but you get the idea! It does not really matter what we are facing, what is on our minds/hearts, and what we have to do; God cares the most! So, as you look at the days before you, remember this; God cares the most!

Take a moment to fill in the blank . . . God cares the most about _____________. God cares the most!

(Hebrews 6:10 - God is fair; he will not forget the work you did and the love you showed for him by helping his people. And he will remember that you are still helping them. NCV)
